DESCRIPTION: No manufacturer's markings. Probably made in Germany (Ernemann) or France (Gilles Faller). Camera appears similar to the 13x18cm Berry field camera made by Ernemann in Germany (1896-1902). The brass hardware is somewhat different from some examples on-line – perhaps this is an earlier example. Also, images of the Berry show a brass handle on the rear standard. The different colored fabric covering bellows corners is also shown on Berry cameras in Ernemann advertisements and on cameras in on-line collections. The camera also is similar to models sold by French maker Gilles Faller.
Walnut Construction - Lovely Display. Has a lens marked Universal Aplanat Extra Rapid 17413. Someone marked “24cm” in the paint many years ago. Lens has one waterhouse stop and the lens cap.
